^<139>La NQR Study of Antiferromagnetic La_2NiO_<4+δ>

The magnetic properties in the La.Ni0.., system have been investigated by "'Lanuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR). The structure or the NQR spectrum at 1.4 Kwas found to depend sensitively on annealing procedures of the compounds, andtherefore on (>. A well-characterized spectrum was obtained for samples oxygenated(Jg0.066) and deoxygenated ((>-0.022) with different structures, exhibiting the existence of the internal magnetic fields H... of - 17.8 k0e nearly parallel to the basalNi-0 plane and - 19.3 k0e perpendicular to the plane. The strength of III,.. at the Lasite was significantly large when compared with that of - l k0e in La.CuO. andcould not be explained simply by the dipole field caused by Ni spin moments.layered perovskite, antiferromagnetism, nuclear quadrupole resonance
