Magnetic Phase Diagram for the Triangular Ising Lattice with Antiferromagnetic Nearest-Neighbor and Ferromagnetic Next-Nearest-Neighbor Interactions

The cluster variation method is applied to calculate a temperature versusmagnetic field phase diagram for the triangular Ising lattice with antiferromagneticnearest-neighbor (nn) and ferromagttetjc tvext-nearest-neighbor (nnn) interactions.Calctulations are perfornted within the nn equilateral triangle plus nnn equilateraltriangle approximation as well as within the molecular field approximation. Thephase diagrams obtained within the forurter approximation are in good agreementwith the Monte Cargo results of other authors except in the region of small magne-tic field. The temperature and magnetic field dependence of sublattice magnet-izations, total magnetization, specific heat, and susceptibility is calculated. Abrief discussion is giveta in connection with experimental data on CsCoC[3 andCsCoBr..
