Electronic Structure of Impurities in Ferromagnetic Iron.II.3d and 4d Impurities

The local magnetic moment M "', the hyperfine field H.. and the nuclear spin-latticerelaxation time T. of 3d and 4d transition metal impurities in Fe are calculated in theframework of the Green function method and in the local spin density approximation(LSD). The calculation reproduces the observed major trends of M"', H.. and T.quite well, though the calculated H.. shows a systematic deviation from the ex-perimental values in the case of' impurities whose magnetic moment couples parallelto the bulk magnetization. The mechanisms of the variation of these quantities areelucidated in the light of the present ab initio calculation.
