A Method of Determining the Ground State of the Extended Range Lattice Gas Model with Two Kinds of Particles

An arr>lication of the method of :eometrical inectualities to the rigorousdetermination of the ground state of the lattice gas model in which two kinds ofparticles interact by pairwise interactions of extended range is discussed. As anillustrative example we take the model on the otte-dimensional lattice with firstand second neighbor interactions, treating the whole region of particle densities,but imposing the condition that the A-th (k = l, 2) neighbor interaction constantsbetween the same kinds of particles are eq ual and that the A-th (A= l, 2) neighborinteraction constant between different kinds of particles is half of those betweenthe same kinds. It is found that seven types of ordered structttres of particles appearas the ground states in this example.
