Two Spin Ordered States under a Magnetic Field along Different Crystalline Axis in Ni (NO_3)_2・4H_2O

The crystal of Ni (NO,).-4H.0 is found to contain two kinds of sites forNi" Tons in a unit cell. By the measurements of the iset'ttrope, susceptibilityand specific heat, two spin ordered states are observed applying a field alongeither of the two ton axes, z. and z., correspondirtg to the two inequivalent Ni"sites. One of the spin orderings occurs between 12 k0e and 44 k0e (H/7z.) andthe other at a higher field region than 35 k0e (H7/z.). The highest critical tem-perature is 0.57 K (H//z.), and is lower than this when H//z...
