The dependence of the spin configuration in a field induced spin or?dered stateon the direction of an external magnetic field is studied in /7-Ni(NO.), ?4H.0 bythe measurements of isoentropic T-H curve, AC susceptibility z a?ad specificheat. When the field direction is canted from the z-axis to the .);-axis, the z-Hcurve is found to have a peak at the central field of the ordered range. And thesingle peak separates into double peaks by further canting. From a molecularfield approximation, these are ascribed to a kind of spin flopping. Th<c antiferro-manneticall>' ordered sr>ins which initiall>' lie alon: the :I:,r-directions 1111 the non.uniaxial crystal field are forced to flop to the -i:,r-directions by cantixag the fielddirection from the z-axis to the .);-axis. It is found that the flopped state correspondsto that in the field range between the observed double peaks of the z-H curve.
