Magnetization Process in the Mixed System of Uniaxial and Planar Antiferromagnets Ni_xCo_<1-x>Cl_2・6H_2O in High Magnetic Field

The magnetization processes of Ni.Co.-,C]z'6H.0 have been studied in theexternal field up to 20 7'in the temperature range from 4.2 to 1.3 K. The magneti-zation processes for the systems with 0<.x<0.45 an.d with 0.75<x<1 are essem-tially similar to those for CoC].?6I].O and for NiCl.=6H.0, respectively. Theeffective anisotropy q=H./H5 decreases toward zero as x approaches to someintermediate concexutration. The features of the magnetization processes in therange 0.5<,v<0.7 are quite different from those of usual antiferromagnet indicat-ing some of characteristics of a randorn mixture of uniaxial and planer antiferro-magnets.
