Paramagnetic Cross Relaxation in Ordered State Co (HCOO)_22H_2O

The paramagnetic dispersion phenomena in Co(HCOO).2H.0 in the orderedstate are studied. The phenomena can not be attributed to the cross relaxationamong Co" and impurity Nj" tons. It is accounted for as cross relaxationsamong dissimilar paramagnetic Co" ions located between antiferromagneticsheets. The exchange interaction J,g. between antiferromagnetic ion and itsadjacent paramagnetic ion is determined as J?./k=O.6O K by the observed fieldvalues of cross relaxation. The effective g value of c'-direction in paramagneticsite is estimated as y,.=5.35. Using these values, the adiabatic and isolatedsusceptibilities are calculated which are in reasonable agreement with the observedsusceptibilities. The antiferromagnetic susceptibility is estimated separated fromthe paramagnetic susceptibility. As temperature decreases, several cross relaxationshave been revealed out subsequently, which seems to reflect the dynamic spincharacters of antiferromagnetic ions.
