Anisotropy of Upper Critical Field in Superconducting 2H-NbS_2

Temperature and angular dependences of upper critical field H.. in layeredsuperconductor 2#-NbS. have been investigated. Parallel-to-perpendicularcritical field ratio was found to be 7.5N8.1 in the experimental temperature rangeof 7'=4.9N5.8 K. The experimental results were found to be well described by3-dimensional model for anisotropic superconductors. This value is much largerthan 2.3x3.2 found in 2f-NbSe,. It is suggested that absence of CDW in 2H-NbS. keeps anisotropy of the Fermi surface high down to low temperatures andthis is responsible ror the large anisotropy or the upper critical field in this material.
