Magnetic and Transport Properties of TbAg_<1-x>In_x Compounds

Measurements of the maxnetization, electrical resistivitv, transverse magneto-resistance and Hall effect have been made on the polycrystals of TbAg? -,In,compounds. The N<Set temperature T,. has the mittimum around .v=0.3 where themagnetic structure changes from (mm0) to (00m) mode. The ordinary Hall coeffi-cient 7?g is positive for all the compounds and has the minimum around ,v=0.3.The spontaneous Hall coefficient 7lS, is positive in silver rich region and decreaseswith increasing x and changes its sign at about x=O.1. The transverse magneto-resistance is proportional to square of the field. The results are discussed on thebasis of the two band model. It is deduced that the number of conduction electronsis about 3 x 10 ' per unit cell and that of holes is 0.71 for ,v=0 and 0.33 forx=O.5, decreasingwith increasing x. The magnetic phase of this system is discussedon the basis of simple RKKY model.
