Rearrangement of Sakatons and High Energy Two-Body Scattering

The high energy two-body and quasi-two-body hadron-hadron scatterings are investigated from the viewpoint of the composite theory. It is shown that the scatterings are well described by a sum of the rearrangement interactions of the sakaton, where the number of the rearrangements n_Rplays an important role. The energy dependence of the scattering amplitude T is assumed to be expressed by use of the n_R as [numerical formula] where p_L is the incident laboratory momentum and γ is a parameter. The experimental energy dependence of the cross sections for various two-body scatterings is well reproduced if we take γ=0.25. From the analysis of the elastic forward scattering we find that the additivity assumption for interactions gives correct relations between total cross sections and the slopes of diffraction peaks. This suggests that the additivity assumption for interactions is favourable to that for scattering amplitudes. For a description of the backward scattering by the rearrangement of the sakatons, the quark model or three-triplet model is consistent with experiment but other composite models such as the quartet model is not.
