We exhaust phenomenologically viable models which satisfy the constraints coming from the longevity of the proton, the quark mass generation, zero or small masses of neutrinos and the suppression of the flavor-changing neutral interactions. For the allowed scenarios with the intermediate mass scale, there remain only three types of gauge hierarchy G→G'→SU(3)_c×U(1)_<em> with G'=SU(3)_c×SU(2)_w×U(1)^2 and for the allowed grand desert scenario we also have three acceptable models. The discrete symmetries liked to the topology of the compactified manifold are also studied in detail.
