The electric dipole moment of the neutron (EDMN) is re-examined in the framework of non-universal soft supersymmetry breaking. We review some features of the relation between the EDMN and non-universal soft supersymmetry breaking terms. It is shown that the constraints on the soft scalar masses and soft CP phases have a rather strong dependence on the non-universality of soft breaking terms. We also show that the soft CP phase φ_B which has no natural suppression mechanism may not contribute significantly to the EDMN in a certain parameter region where the radiative symmetry breaking occurs successfully. If this is the case, φ_B may not need to be so small.
