A New Truncation Method for Multi-Cluster Orthogonality Condition Model : Nuclear Physics

Microscopic cluster model wave functions are investigated on the basis of the Pauli-allowed states. For the three-cluster system consisting of the SU(3)-scalar cluster, it is shown that the Pauli-allowed states with higher oscillator quanta can be constructed from a Pauli-allowed state by operating a raising operator Λ_+ of the Sp(2,R)_z group which is defined for the relative motion of clusters in the intrinsic coordinate frame. Using the orthogonalized ladder states, we discuss a new truncation method for the multi-cluster system. Applicability to the ^<16>O+2α orthogonality condition model is investigated.
