In a framework of the ATMS method, one- and two-body density functions of the α particle are derived by using the Reid soft care V_8 model potential. Deuteron-deuteron spectroscopic amplitudes describing the relative motion between the deuterons in the α particle for the (d,α) reaction are well represented as a sum of Gaussian functions. These Gaussian Expansions have a real convenience of practical use, because their Fourier transforms can be obtained analytically.
