Σ-Hypernuclear Responses in ^4He(In-Flight K^-,π) Spectra

Σ-hypernuclear productions by in-flight (K^-,π^-), (K~-,π^0) and (K^-,π^+) reactions on the 4^H target at p_K≃400-800 MeV/c are investigated theoretically in the DWIA framework by Green's function treatment with a complex nucleus-Σ potential derived from two-body ΣΝ interaction. The pion spectra are demonstrated systematically in order to clarify the structure of A=4 Σ-hypernuclei,ie,^4_ΣHe(J^π=0^+,T≃1/2), which is predicted theoretically as a nucleus-Σ bound state. The results show that the 4^H(in-flight K^-,π^-) reaction provides definitive information on the width and the structure of ^4_ΣHe. For a BNL-AGS proposal, the spectral shape at p_K=586 MeV/c (4°) is also discussed.
