A New Photometric Determination of Microquantity of Antimony using Fuchsin or Malachite Green

A methyl violet-amyl acetate extraction method has been reported by the present writers for the photometric determination of a microquantity of antimony. It has later been found that fuchsin and malachite green, the dyes of the same triphenylmethane series, are also excellent reagents for this purpose. The present series of experiments were carried out in order to find optimal conditions for their use in this determination.
