The determination of arsenic by reduction was studied by the use of chromium, titanium and molybdenum solutions reduced with liquid zinc amalgam. Arsenic was ruduced to metallic state with chromous solution in hydrochloric acid solution, but not with titanous or molybdenous solution. The metallic arsemic obtained by reduction was determined by iodimetry and gravimetry. Applying this method, the determination of arsenic in pig iron was carried out and good results were obtained.
