Silver decoration method is one of the visualization method of hydrogen distribution by using redox reaction between hydrogen and the silver decoration solution of 4.3 mol/m^3 K[Ag(CN)_2]. In this investigation, the quantitative visualization method of localized diffusible hydrogen distribution based upon silver decoration method has been developed. The hydrogen supply side of the specimen was electrochemically hydrogen charged at a current density of 3 A/m^2 using a 0.2 mol/L CH_3COOH+0.17 mol/L CH_3COONa solution. After permeate hydrogen had become stable, the hydrogen detect side was immersed in the silver decoration solution and the distribution of silver particles was observed by a scanning electron microscope (SEM). When the silver decoration period was extended, more silver particles were observed. The amount of silver particles was proportional to the amount of permeate hydrogen calculated by using the data obtained by a hydrogen permeation test. The Ni plated specimen had more silver particles than non Ni plated specimen. The silver particles were observed in ferrite but not in cementite. The density of the silver particles in ferrite was different from grain to grain.
