Sub-THz Emission Properties of Photoconductive Antennas Excited with Multimode Laser Diode

The spectral profiles of the continuous wave (cw) sub-THz radiation from photoconductive devices are investigated for three antennas by exciting with a multimode laser diode (LD). The spectral profile strongly depends on the antenna structure, reflecting the antenna characteristics. The emission efficiency is compared between the cw LD and femtosecond laser excitations.
