The ultrasonic attenuation of ionic conductors is studied in a model taking into ac-count the mutual coupling between mobile ions irt addition to the coupling betweenmobile ions and lattice ions. The result is compared with the experiments in apolycrystal /7-Ag,Sl. The measurements are taken at 10, 30, 50 and 70 MHz forlongitudinal waves from roonn temperature to the f3-y transitic>n temperature employ-ing a standard pulse echo technique. The activation energy and the attempt frequencyare obtained for the hopping of mobile Ag" iouas. The authors also estimate themagnitude of the interaction j>arameter of mutual coupling between mobile ions rela-tive to that between lattice ions and mobile Tons.
