Proton spin-lattice relaxation time T., in the rotating frame was measured inammonium sulfate between 370 K and 118 K. The minimum value of T.. (2 -4sec) in the paraelectric phase of ammonium sulfate is attributed to the reorienta-tion of S0.1" which modulates the dipolar interaction between "H and the natu-rat abundance of "0 spins (0.037 %) and not the effect of the ferroelectric modeproposed by Knispel et al. and Nordland et at. The activation energy E. -4kcal/mol for the reorientation of SO.-" was determined.
