Spin-lattice relaxation times T., of protons ('H) in the rotating frame weredetermined in ammonium perchlorate NH.Cl0. between 556 K and 125 K.The temperature dependence of T.. shows two minimum values 1.5 sec at about476 K and 0.94 sec at 238 K for an rf field Hj = 2.1 gauss. The origins of theminima T., are attributed to the motion of oxygen atoms "O of natural abundance(0.037 '3). Oxygen atoms affect 7'1, of protons in different two ways. The minimumOf'Tntt at hugher terrnperature IS due t0 the cross reIlxQtuon between 'II and "0spins, while that at low temperature due the the reorientation of C103-ions whichmodulates the dipolar interaction between 'H and "0 and also due to the crossrelaxation between 'H and "0. The value e'qQ/h= 12.3 MHz was determined for"0 in CIO,(-ton.
