Coherent and Incoherent Mossbauer Scattering Observed by Using a Newly Designed γ-Ray Diffractometer

The measurement of M6ssbauer scattering by an "Fe foil has been performed byusing a newly installed 7-ray diffractometer. At six resonance velocities, Bragg and off-Bragg scattering was observed for re-emitted 14.4 keV y-rays. The former scattering isunderstood quantitatively by including the interference effect to Rayleigh scattering,The latter is explained as the contributions from recoil-free incoherent scattering,disorder scattering and incoherent inelastic scattering.
