Neutron and Mossbauer Studies of Atomic Magnetic Moments in a Ternary Alloy Fe-Co-Ni

The magnetic moments of Co atom in Fe-Co-Ni alloys have been determinedover whole concentration range of the fcc structure by polarized neutron diffusescattering experiment. The results support qualitatively the theoretical calculationstmder the coherent potential approximation. The unagnetic rnoments of Fe atomshave also been obtained in the alloys by means of M6ssbauer effect. The resultslie in between the theoretical values obtained either by the coherent potential orby the rigid band approximation.
