Direct and Indirect Exciton Transitions in InBr_xI_<1-x>Mixed Crystals

Reflection and absorption spectra of InBr.I. , mixed crystals have beenmeasured at 2 K by using polarized light. The lowest reflection peak shifts con-tinuously from Inl to InBr indicating the intra-cationic nature of the first excitontransition. In the absorption spectra of the mixed crystals with low iodine coo-centration, zero-phonon indirect exciton transition is identified and concentrationdependence of its tlu'eshold energy is investigated. It is confirmed that the in-direct-direct crossover occurs at the composition ,v=0.5.
