Effect of uv-light irradiation 011 iodiuae itvapturjties irt KCI: I cr?ystal has beeninvestigated. By uv-light irradiatiota, intensities of absorption and euaaission bandsassociated with isolated iodine iotas (IIIOIIOIIICFS) dittainisla, whereas; UV enaissionband at 4.64 eV dtne to paired iodine tons (dinaers) is enhanced. Er?hanceaavent ofthe UV euvaissioua band was coxafirxtaed also by xaaeasturing excitation spectra. Theseresttlts suggest that tuv-light irradiation converts uvaononaers into clirners. Lineardependence of the growth rate of the UV euvtission band on the concentration ofiodine was confirmed experjnaeuatally. Tlais enstures that the probability of trappingfor naoving 111000111015 is proportional to the concentration of iodine. Therefore,it is certain that the iodine ions excited with uv-light IIIOVC througla the lattice ofthe host crystal.
