On the Threshold Criterion for a Nonideal Type II : Supercoductor with Dense Pinning Centres

A global pin.ning force in. a superconductor with dense pins is calculated bvthe use of a statistical method, It is taken into account that the value or a com=pljance for a displacement of fluxoids is rnuch larger than the effective compliancefor a local distortion of a fluxoid lattice around pins. For dense pins, it is shownthat the rin.ninn efficjencv of each rin.ninx centre is reduced remarkably due to arandom d1StflbUtI0Il Of p[0.I1[I1f centres WhJCh 818 JfltCf2Cting simultaneouslywith a fluxoid. The present calculation leads to a value of the threshold level ofthe order of experimental data. The resultant ex.pression of the global pinningforce also shows good agreements with experimental data for the magnitudeand the dependences on both the pin density and the flux density.
