Nonlinear Current-Voltage Characteristics in Dilutely Pinned Superconductors

The current-voltage characteristics in superconducting foils are calculated forthe case that the interaction between small pinning centres and fluxoids with theAbrikosov structure may be expressed by a sawtoothed pinning force varyingwith the period of the lattice spacing. The I- V curves have nonlinear characteristicsdue to the nonlinear motion of fluxoids around " centres. This effect isplllfllllgshown to be enhanced as the strength of the elementary pinning force is reduced.
