Pinning Effect in Superconducting Pb-50%In Alloy

A pinning effect is investigated with an ac measuring method for Pb-50 '3In rodwith dilute pins. In the lower-field region the obtained pinning-force density inthe bulk obeys our previous theory, whereas a small peak effect is observed inthe higher-field region. At the peak in the bulk pinning-force density also theinteraction distance has a peak, while the elasticity of a fluxoid lattice decreasesmonotonically with the increasing field. This peak effect is concluded as due toa syncjronization effect. The mechanism which leads to a synchronized situationfor pinning is discussed.
