Solitons in a Convective Motion of a Low-β Plasma

In the present paper ut us shown that solitons are formed and propagate in aconvective motion of a low-77 plasma in the presence of a weak static electricfield normal to an applied magnetic field. The theory is based on a model equationof Hasegawa and Mima and also on the two-dimensional ion-fluid equation with aBoltzmann distribution from which the model equation is derived, both ofwhich are reduced to the Korteweg-de Vries equation.
