B Ion-Acoustic Solitary Waves with Effects of Resonant Particles (Part IV. Applications to the Vlasov Plasma)

Linear and nonlinear resonant effects on the propagation of ion-acoustic solitary waves, which modify the Korteweg-de Vries equation, are examined using the reductive perturbation method generalized for applications to the Vlasov equation. Asymptotic behaviour of precursors is discussed in the context of the initial value problem.
