X-Ray Photoelectron Spectra of Valence Electron in (Cu_xNi_<1-x>)S_2 and ZnS_2

X-ray photoelectron energy distribution in the valence band has been meas-ured for the system (Cu.,Ni.-,)S. and for ZnS. with the pyrite-type crystalstructure. Intensity difference between Cu....Ni..,S. and NiS. spectra showsthree peaks, whose energies correspond to sulphur 3p, cationic t.. and e. bands.The FWHM of resolved e. peak is la.rger than that of t... l'he spectrum of thevalence band in Z11S2 shows a sharp psak of Zn 3cl and a broad S 3p band whichhas three humps on it. These humps are discussed compared with the result of aband ca.lcuIation.
