The mechanism of magnetic and transport properties of the spinel phase Li.Zn. .V.0. system was studied by using NMR technique. On the basis of 5ly NMR, it wasfound that metallic-magnetic state of LiV.0. and raonmetallic-nonmagnetic state ofZnV.0. coexist in Li.Zn. .V.0. system. The ,X'-dependence of the ratio betweenmetallic-magnetic state and nonmagnetic state was determined and its origin was dis-cussed. The 'Li NMR shift measurement suggested that there existed the preferenceof valency of vanadium ions depending on the nearest neighbor configuration of Li"ions or Zn" ions. The metal-insulator transition of this system was understood interms of the percolation effect of the metallic-magnetic vanadium ions.
