Interface Mixing in Fe/LiF Multilayered Thin Film

Multilayered thin films of iron and lithium fluoride (Lid) were prepared usingultrahigh-vacuum deposition with two independently controlled E-guns as heatsources. M6ssbauer spectra corresponding to metallic Fe atoms and Fe" ions wereobserved in these films. The magnetization curve at 4.2 K was shifted with a magneticfield cooling from room temperature where absolute values of Hc's for f magnetxcfield and - magnetic field were different. This suggests that exchange anisotropy dueto magnetic exchange coupling between ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic parts ex-ists in the film.
