• This paper describes constitutive relations for volcanic cohesive soils. The treatment of the time dependent behaviour in the analysis is discussed. The validity of constitutive relations according to the viscoplastic flow rule by Perzyna is confirmed under undrained triaxial condition. The computational results appear to be consistent with laboratory observations.
