In order to evaluate the shearing characteristics of reinforced sandy soils, improved direct shear tests are carried out. Experimental results show that the shearing strength of the reinforced soil changes with the angle between the slip surface and the geotextile within the soil mass. While the increase of the shearing strength are observed at any angle of the geotextile.
