(3<I>R</I>,6<I>S</I>,7<I>S</I>,1(10)<I>E</I>,4<I>Z</I>)- and (3<I>R</I>,6<I>S</I>,7<I>S</I>,1(10)<I>E</I>,4<I>Z</I>)-3-Methoxymethoxy-13-nor-1(10),4-germacradieno-12,6-lactones were synthesized from (−)-carvone, utilizing anionic oxy-Cope rearrangement to construct a ten-membered ring compound.
