Dendropanoxide (<B>1</B>) was synthesized by the reaction of 3β,4β-epoxyfriedelane (<B>19</B>) with boron trifluoride etherate in ether at −10 °C. In the rearrangement reaction, 4α-fluorofriedelan-3β-ol (<B>20</B>), D : B-friedo-olean-5(10)-en-3β-ol (<B>21</B>), β-amyrin (<B>22</B>), and D : B-friedo-olean-5-en-3β-ol (<B>23</B>) were also produced.
