概要

Solidification characteristics of PME (palm methyl ester) and RME (rapeseed methyl ester) under high-pressure conditions up to 200MPa were investigated. A high-pressure vessel with quartz windows was used to observe the solidification behavior. The solidifying pressure was measured using laser transmission method. As a result, PME had high possibility of solidifying in injection line of diesel engines during cold operating condition, because its solidifying pressure was less than 100MPa at room temperature. RME did not solidify at 180MPa.
