Abstract The basically catalyzed reaction of aromatic aldehyde such as p-anisaldehyde with 1,1'-bis(p-acetylphenyl)ferrocene afforded, in addition to condensation products, ferrocenophane derivatives with two p-phenylene groups between the ferrocene system and the five membered bridge.
