Microdetermination of metals by flame photometric method was studied by exciting their oxine complex compounds which were extracted in various organic solvents. The oxinates of titanium, gallium and indium extracted with organic solvents were excited by oxygen-hydrogen flame and their emission intensities were measured by using the band head at 518 mμ, the spectral line at 417.2 mμ and the spectral line at 451.1mμ. The conditions for the determination of these elements were investigated by using methyl isobutyl ketone, amyl acetate, ethyl acetate and chloroform, and it was confirmed that the sensitivity could be increased by 5〜15 times of those in aqueous solution by selecting optimum gas pressure for each solvent.
