• The influence of heat-treatment on the magnetic properties of face-centered cubic nickel-cobalt alloys, which are typical of simple ferromagnetic solid solutions, has been studied. Their anomalous magnetic behavior in the annealed state, the changes in their magnetic properties due to quenching and due to magnetic annealing, and their magnetic behavior at high temperatures have been explained in terms of the idea of the stabilization of domain walls by the induced uniaxial anisotropy as proposed previously by us. It is concluded that the magnetic properties of simple ferromagnetic solid solutions are, indeed, sensitive to the heat-treatment and can not be interpreted satisfactorily by so-far presented domain theories without the idea of domain-wall stabilization.
