High-T_c Superconducting Bi-Pb-Sr-Ca-Cu-O Thin Films Prepared by Thermal Decomposition of Metallic Complex Salts

Superconducting Bi-Pb-Sr-Ca-Cu-O thin films of zero-resistivity temperature 101 K and critical current 152 A / cm^2 (at 77 K) were synthesized on MgO (100) single-crystal substrates by thermal decomposition of metal naphthenates. During the temperature rise in annealing, there appeared a Bi_2Sr_2CuO_x phase above ca. 750℃, a highly crystallized Bi_2Sr_2CaCu_2O_x phase above ca. 820℃ and a highly crystallized Bi_2Sr_2CuO_x phase above ca. 875℃. The annealing time in formation of the Bi_2Sr_2Ca_2Cu_3O_x phase should not be too long because of the relatively large surface effects in heat treatment of thin films.
