• The steroidal aglycone which was obtained by hydrolysis of the glycosidic fraction of Chinese crude drug"Bei-Wujiapi (北五加皮)"with dilute acid was identified as 21-O-methyl-⊿^5-pregnene-3β, 14β, 17β, 21-tetraol-20-one (Ia). It is very interesting that the steroid having an O-methyl group at C_<21> was found in the natural products.
