The basic analytical methods for compression operation of compressible slurry under non-constant pressure were presented. It has been found that the basic equation for compression operation under constant pressure could also be used for analysis of compression under non-constant pressure. For convenience in analysis, two models of non-constant pressure were used, linear and exponential functions of elapsed time respectively. A resonable coincidence between theories and experiments was obtained under these model conditions of non-constant pressure. In the case of this analysis, the compression process was recognized to be divided into two steps, and the average specific compression resistance α_c was indicated as the function of (θ/z^3), where z is the initial mass of slurry per unit area, and θ is the elapsed time.
