A neutron study of the static structure as well as the lattice dynamics was carriedout on quenched cz-Ag.SI in the temperature range between 90and 290 K. A distribu-lion of silver ions among a disordered lattice fortned by I and S was found to varywith temperature by the analysis with a least squares refinccment of the structure.Phonon dispersion curves of low energy mocles showed a slight temperaturedependence. Dispersionless broad peaks were observed at 4-5 rued, which seem tobe a second harmonic of a local vibration mode clearly observed at 2 - 2.5 men, It isquite difficult to discuss the dynamics of atomic motions in detail from the phonondata because of a strong anharmonicity due to the disordered arrangement of anions.
