The crystal structure of β-CuBrTe at room temperature has been analyzed by the Rietveld method with X-ray powder diffraction data. It belongs to the orthorhombic. system √2a×√2b×3c (a ≈b) with the space group Fddd, where t,he crystal system of the a-phase is assumed as a × a × c. The α-phase of CuBrTe at high temperature has the disordered arrangement of Cu atoms, but the structure of β-CuBrTe includes the ordered arrangement.
