The phase transition and the structure of a superionic conductor Ag.SBr...I ..5were investigated by specific heat, X-ray diffraction and dielectric meastu'ements.The ordered phase (y-phase) concerning the Ag distribution was discovered below115 K. The transition heat and the entropy change for the 7=p phase transitionare 0.l9kcal/moI.'and 1.6 cat/mol. deg., respectively.X-ray structure analysis showed that the structure of the /7-phase was iso-morphous with that of /7-Ag.SI and /7-Ag.SBr, but the structtu'e of the 7-phasewas neither the same as 7-Ag.SI nor 7-Ag3SBr. The structtu'e of 7-Ag3SBr.,..1 ..5belongs to the orthorhombic system with the lattice constant a (':::-bzc)=9.637#0.002 A at 99 K which is almost doubled the lattice constant of the /7-phase atroom temperature (a=4.842f0.O03 A). The structure and the phase transitions ofthe system Ag.SBr.Ij -, are discussed.
