Tlae electrical resistivity of alunainuun strips has been n'neasured for va.riousthickness (0.02 -1.48 ITIIII) and over a temperature (1.5 -60 K). The results showthe deviation frouan Matthiessen's rule (DMR) l.(j7') on the surface scattering. The surface reflection parameter p is deterztained to be nearly zero frou'na thetenvperature at which the naaximuu?a of A.(T) appears. The DMR ,3.(T) showsdifferent profiles frotta DMR on the impurity scatterirag. The cotttparison of thepresent data witla Husstad-Lothe theory shows t.hat the effect of sutaall angleelectron-phonon scattering is SIIIQII on the surface s:cattering. The present experi-ments can be explaiuted by a terun of the surface re:sistivity p.,(T) (=7.(0)-[-,l.(7'))deduced froun Fuchs-Sondheimer theory. It is thuds concluded tltat DMR A.(T)mainly arises froun the spatial variation of the electron distribution function.
